My temporary Apple envy is back, and it’s all about female health this time

Every time Apple takes to the stage to announce a new product or software update, the Android fan and multi-platform user in me takes a backseat and pouts in envy. For a few hours, sometimes even days, I start wondering what it would be like to dump my Pixel 6 Pro, Galaxy Watch 4, Nothing Ear (1) buds, Pixelbook laptop, Xiaomi Android TV, and Nest speakers, and go all in with Apple. I already have the iMac and iPad to build from. And it would be so smooth and seamless to opt into a unified ecosystem. Then I remind myself of how much I dislike iOS as a daily driver and how boring life would be as a single-brand user, and my jealousy slowly dissipates.

This time, though, I reckon there will be lingering envy, and it’s all because of the Apple Watch Series 8‘s new temperature sensor and the way Apple is using it to track female health.

There aren’t enough wall plugs to handle everything we keep installing around our TVs nowadays. It was all good when we just had to plug in the television then we added the cable box, soundbar and/or speakers, various set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and we’ve finished it off with ambient lights. But not everyone needs the most extensive and complicated setup. Sometimes, you just want a simple product that ticks several boxes, and this is what the new Philips Fidelio FS1 speaker does.

Skipping the technical details for a bit, the FS1 is a bookshelf speaker with LED lighting on the back that integrates with Philips’ Ambilight TVs to create an ambient light experience around your content. It’s almost as if you had installed a pair of invisible Hue Play light bars too.

New images reveal Google’s upcoming affordable Chromecast

For anyone who thought Chromecast with Google TV was too expensive, Google is currently working on a cheaper HD model that will launch soon. Thanks to some newly surfaced images, we now know what this version of the device will look like.

Four photos were obtained by the people over at TecnoBlog. The images show the front and back of the new Chromecast, while also revealing the dongle’s measurements at just over 6cm wide and nearly 17cm long.
