    • Gemini Extensions can now be accessed directly from the lock screen on Android devices.
    • Extensions allow Gemini to fetch real-time, personalized information from other services, making it easier to get answers without manually searching.
    • To use it, toggle “Use Gemini without unlocking” in settings, then activate Gemini with your voice or the power button.

Google’s Gemini is continuing its evolution as the default smart assistant, stepping further into the space once dominated by Google Assistant. The AI-powered chatbot has steadily gained new features, including Extensions, which allow it to fetch real-time information from various Google services and even third-party apps.

Now, Google has announced that these Extensions will work directly from an Android phone’s lock screen, allowing Gemini to perform even more actions without having to unlock your phone.

Galaxy phones finally get a setting to turn off one of their most annoying features

    0
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra home screen
Credit: Ryan Haines / Android Authority
    • Samsung has added the option to disable the Galaxy’s auto-dim feature.
    • Disabling prevents the device from automatically dimming the screen once the battery percentage reaches 5%.
    • The toggle is present in the latest version of One UI 7.

When you’re phone’s battery is running low, turning down the brightness of the screen can help the battery last a little longer. Although lowering the brightness should be your choice, Galaxy phones take that choice away by automatically dimming the screen once the battery hits 5%. Of course, you can raise the brightness back to where it was, but it can be a little annoying having to undo something your phone did without your consent. But it looks like Samsung is changing this in the latest update to One UI 7.

In the latest version of One UI 7, Samsung is allowing you to remove this annoying behavior with the addition of a new setting option. When you go into the Battery setting, you’ll find a new toggle labeled “Auto dim screen.” Disabling the feature will prevent your Galaxy device from automatically dimming once it crosses that 5% threshold.

Google Sheets is now faster, so your spreadsheets don’t hold you hostage

    • Google has announced a new update to Google Sheets aimed at making the service significantly faster.
    • The update promises pasting and filtering speeds up to 50% faster and data loading speeds up to 30% quicker.
    • The update is rolling out to all Google Sheets users, including personal and Workspace accounts, with no subscription required.

Over the past year, Google has steadily infused its Workspace apps with Gemini-powered AI features. Today, it announced a fundamental update to Google Sheets that should speed up users’ everyday tasks. The upgrades focus on three key areas:

    • Pasting data between spreadsheets is now up to 50% faster, whether moving a few cells or entire datasets.
    • Setting up filter conditions, a common task for sorting information, is also 50% quicker.
    • Loading existing data in spreadsheets is 30% speedier, even for larger files.

These tweaks follow last year’s update, which doubled Sheets’ overall calculation speed for formulas, pivot tables, and formatting. Together, the changes aim to reduce lag for users juggling complex tasks.

AppleCare Plus may soon say goodbye to multi-year prepaid plans and hello to subscriptions

    • Users may soon lose the option to buy prepaid multi-year AppleCare Plus plans at physical retail stores and on devices.
    • The company may only sell two- or three-year prepaid plans online.
    • The change is expected to happen next week.

If you buy an Apple device, you have the option of adding AppleCare Plus, a device protection plan, to your purchase just in case you run into a problem. Currently, you can buy a two- to three-year prepaid plan at a physical retail store or online within 60 days. But it looks like Apple may soon only offer this option online.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Apple expert Mark Gurman claims that a change is coming to AppleCare Plus. He says the tech giant plans to drop “the 2-3 year pay in advance option at physical retail stores and on devices.” It seems that this change is expected to happen as soon as next week.

Apple was reportedly working on AR glasses, but they just canceled it

    • Apple was reportedly working on AR glasses powered by a Mac computer.
    • The company wanted the glasses to work with an iPhone, but the smartphone lacked the necessary processing power.
    • The project was scrapped last week after it failed to meet executives’ expectations.

Back in October, it was reported that Apple’s Vision Products Group was working on “at least” four new products. One of these products was said to be a Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses competitor, and another was reportedly AirPods with a camera built in. A new report says that Mac-powered augmented reality (AR) glasses were also among those projects, but it has now been canceled.

According to Bloomberg, Apple was developing AR glasses that would rely on a Mac computer for its processing. To no one’s surprise, it’s said the tech giant originally wanted the glasses to work with the iPhone, but the smartphone didn’t have the necessary processing power for the device’s features. It also proved to be a massive drain on the iPhone’s battery.

These are the 10 most beautiful smartphones of the past 15 years

When a new smartphone launches, we often spend a lot of time talking about its internal hardware specs and what it can do that most other phones cannot. However, the first thing anyone ever notices about a phone is how it looks, and that has a significant bearing on how we feel about it, which is just as important as what it can do for us.

Over the past 15 years, we’ve seen some truly stunning phone designs. Today, smartphones might seem to be mostly boring rectangles, but that hasn’t always been the case. Occasionally, companies create a work of art that just so happens to act as a phone, and we want to celebrate them here!

    • The first firmware update for the Galaxy S25 series is now available.
    • The update is available for US and European variants.
    • It includes December’s security patch.

Now that the Galaxy S25 series has launched and orders are in, all that’s left to do is wait for shipments to arrive. However, some lucky people have already gotten their hands on Samsung’s latest line of Galaxy S devices. If this includes you, then you can already start downloading the family’s first firmware update.

According to SamMobile, the first update for the Galaxy S25 family is currently available for download. This is only for the US and European variants, however. Devices in the US come with firmware S93xUSQU1AYA1, while Europe should get S93xBXXU1AYA1.

Retroid Pocket Flip 2 rumor claims the clamshell handheld is coming

    • Retroid is rumored to be developing a sequel to the Pocket Flip.
    • The original handheld gaming system was quietly discontinued.
    • There are currently no details on the specs or design.

In a sea of handheld gaming systems, you may or may not remember the Retroid Pocket Flip. It was a solid retro portable clamshell console that launched on March 22, 2023, and later was quietly discontinued in 2024. If you’re a fan who has been wondering if a Flip 2 will ever be made, you may be excited about this latest rumor.

The host of the YouTube channel Joey’s Retro Handhelds has published a new video about the Miyoo Flip. This particular video is mostly a rant against the Miyoo Flip, but in the last minute and a half of the video, the YouTuber plainly states that a Retroid Pocket Flip 2 is coming. No details about the device were given, so it’s unknown what the specs could be or what it could look like.

Want to turn off AI Overviews? Just start swearing at Google

    0
    • Google introduced AI Overviews last year to summarize Search results.
    • Their reception has proved controversial at best, with users often looking for ways to disable them.
    • Including profanity in your Search query appears to work quite well at immediately turning AI Overviews off.

“Enough with this @!#?@! AI nonsense, already!” With as ubiquitous as artificial intelligence-powered systems have become over the past couple years, and considering how their performance sometimes leaves us a little wanting, it should be no surprise that plenty of people are interested in disabling AI where possible. After Google brought AI Overviews to Search last year, we learned about some tricks for turning AI Overviews off, such as by appending some special characters to the URL in your browser. Now we’re hearing about one that’s damn easy to use, and a lot more damn convenient than fiddling around with your damn address bar: cursing.

The approach could not be simpler: Just drop an f-bomb (or your expletive of choice) or two into your Google Search query, and AI Overviews seem to just vanish. It’s unclear who first spotted this behavior, but Ars Technica reports that it’s been making the rounds on social media this past week.

    • Google has announced Ask for Me, a new experiment in Search Labs that lets its AI handle phone calls to local businesses.
    • The feature allows users to request service pricing and availability for things like oil changes or nail appointments without making the calls themselves.
    • Currently available in the US for select services, the experiment has limited capacity, and businesses can opt out of receiving AI calls.

Google is rolling out a new AI-powered experimental feature called “Ask for Me” through its Search Labs platform. The feature aims to automate phone inquiries to local businesses for price and availability checks, saving users the hassle of dialing themselves.

The tool allows Google’s AI to call businesses on behalf of users, gathering information on service pricing and availability. It will be available in the US for English-language queries like “oil change near me” or “nail salons nearby” on Google Search for desktop or mobile. After entering service details, the AI makes calls and then provides a summary of its findings.

It will be available in the US for English-language queries like “oil change near me” or “nail salons nearby” on Google Search for desktop or mobile. After entering service details, the AI makes calls and then provides a summary of its findings.

Google Contacts ‘Besties’ label hints at new relationship options (Update: New name)

    0
    • “Besties” in Contacts may soon give you a new way to identify your closest friends.
    • While we find multiple references throughout the app, right now nothing’s functional.
    • Subsequent strings point to this feature actually being called Pixel Besties.

Update, January 29, 2024 (2:17 PM ET): We previously reported on the so-called Besties or Pixel Besties feature in the Contacts app. We have now found evidence that Google may have changed the name Pixel Besties to simply VIPs. You can see the new name in the screenshots below.

Original article, August 1, 2024 (12:15 PM ET): Relationships are much more than about who you know. The surface-level details — things like name, phone number, and where they live — don’t matter nearly as much as how this person has come to be in your life. Is this a work colleague? A relative? As we expect our smartphones and the apps that run on them to automate more and more tasks, the details of these relationships can really start to matter — an email being drafted to an academic advisor should probably care more about grammar and formality than one going out to your bestie. How’s a phone supposed to tell all these people apart?

Google’s ‘ultimate goal’ is for Android games to work seamlessly across mobile, XR, and TV

    • Sam Bright, the lead at Google Play, said that the team’s “ultimate goal” is to have Android apps and games work seamlessly across Android platforms.
    • This would solve the issue of an app or game working well on mobile, for example, but not so great on Android XR or Android TV.
    • Google has already taken many steps to help with this issue.

Late last year, Google unveiled its first brand-new operating system in 10 years: Android XR. Designed for mixed-reality headsets and glasses, Android XR will be available in new products sometime this year, headlined by the secretive “Project Moohan” headset, created in partnership with Samsung and Qualcomm.

We know for sure that Android XR will support the Google Play Store and thus the millions of apps and games you find there. The problem Google faces, though, is how to scale Android apps and games from two-dimensional mobile screens to the immersive three-dimensional world of Android XR.

Google celebrates the Year of the Snake with Lunar New Year Doodle

    0
    • Lunar New Year is nearly here, with January 29 ushering in the Year of the Snake.
    • Google is ready to celebrate with an appropriately snake-ified Doodle.
    • In addition to the main Lunar New Year Doodle, Google’s also got a special edition for South Korea.

With February creeping up on us quickly, the fireworks, toasts, and celebration of New Year’s already feel like a distant memory to many of us. But for a whole lot of other people, the party’s only just getting started, with Lunar New Year kicking off this week. Now Google’s ready to get these annual festivities going in style with its latest Doodle.

2025 is the Year of the Snake on the Chinese zodiac, and begins tomorrow, January 29. While Chinese New Year is probably the most familiar celebration, the practice has spread all across Asia, with other nations and ethnicities offering their own spin on Lunar New Year merrymaking — a practice that’s been going on for over 3,000 years. No matter where you’re celebrating, though, you can expect some excellent food, lots of people wishing you good luck, and fireworks galore.

Today’s best smartphones are not exactly cheap. Most flagships start at around the $800 mark for the base model, and many options exceed $1000 by a large margin, nearly reaching as high as $2k in some cases. But what if you don’t have much cash to spend on a phone? While opting for a budget phone, like the Pixel 8a, is one solution, those in the US have another option. It’s possible to get some of the hottest flagships either for free or at a significantly reduced rate through your carrier.

Let’s take a quick look at all the carriers that offer a free phone when you switch to their network, as well as a few deals that apply to existing customers as well.

The first Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 camera specs have leaked

    • The Galaxy Z Flip 7 camera specs have leaked online, revealing the same camera hardware as the Z Flip 6.
    • That means a 50MP primary camera and 12MP ultrawide lens, with no telephoto camera.
    • The phone is also said to get a 10MP selfie camera instead of the 12MP shooter seen on the Galaxy S series.

Samsung has just launched the Galaxy S25 series, but the company is also expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 later this year. Now, a trusted outlet has revealed camera specs for the Flip phone.

GalaxyClub reports that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will offer a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide shooter. Unfurl the phone, and you’ll apparently find a 10MP selfie camera instead of the 12MP shooter seen on recent Galaxy S devices.

    • A new incident shared on Reddit involves a child mistaking an adult film actor in a pornographic ad for a popular game streamer while watching Fortnite videos on the YouTube.
    • Although the platform has previously claimed that it diligently monitors and blocks inappropriate ads, growing evidence suggests more robust safeguards are needed urgently.

YouTube’s bad ads problem seems to be getting even more pervasive, with a clear failure in content moderation highlighted by a growing number of reports on platforms like Reddit. Now Samsung says there is a separate Bluetooth S Pen for S25 Ultra (wait, what?)

    • A Samsung blog has claimed that Galaxy S25 Ultra owners can get a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen as a standalone purchase.
    • This comes after Samsung ditched Bluetooth from the S25 Ultra’s included S Pen.
    • However, Samsung’s websites don’t seem to list a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the new Ultra handset.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra isn’t a complete upgrade across the board, as the Korean brand has downgraded the S Pen. The company has removed Bluetooth functionality from the included S Pen, claiming that the associated features like air gestures weren’t that popular with users.

Now, Samsung has claimed on its Business Insights blog (h/t: NotebookCheck) that Galaxy S25 Ultra owners can buy a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen as a separate purchase. Check out the screenshot below.

I’m sorry, I was wrong about Google Photos Memories

    0

When Google Photos introduced Memories in 2019, my eyes rolled so far to the back of my head that I risked going permanently blind. At the time, every app was chasing TikTok and Instagram Stories, implementing those bite-sized swipeable short videos for dwindling attention spans, and I thought Google running after that trend was misguided and pointless. I have my photos and videos right there, in front of me, so why would I need reminders about them?

For several years, each time I set up my phone, I would go into Google Photos and disable all notifications coming from the app, including Memories. I didn’t want random reminders of things I’ve done and places I’ve been; I could consult them on my own terms. Or so I thought. During those years, whenever I opened the Photos app, I rarely, if ever, clicked on any Memory on top of my homescreen. To me, this was a waste of screen estate that could be used to display my most recent photos instead.

OnePlus Open 2 rumors: Release date, leaked features, and everything else we know so far

    0
Update: January 26, 2025 (1:25 AM ET): We have updated our OnePlus Open 2 rumor hub with confirmed information regarding the phone’s chipset, wireless charging support, and IP rating.

While Europe and parts of Asia have experienced a variety of excellent foldable phones, the US had limited options beyond Samsung for years. Fortunately, this is no longer the case, as we now have several compelling alternatives from Google, Motorola, and, more recently, OnePlus. As we note in our OnePlus Open review, it is an outstanding product and feels much more polished than one might typically expect from a first-generation device. It’s not a perfect device, though, and there’s plenty of room for improvements, which we could get with the upcoming OnePlus Open 2. But are we even getting a successor? Here are all the leaks, rumors and other details that we know about the OnePlus Open 2.

Samsung has just launched the Galaxy S25 series, and you’d be forgiven for looking at these phones and thinking they were the Galaxy S24 series. Or even the S23 range. The company hasn’t made significant design changes to its flagship phones in a while.

You could argue that this applies to the Galaxy A series and Galaxy Z foldable range as well. Either way, we’re curious to find out whether Samsung’s designs still excite you. Let us know by voting in our poll below.

I’ve had the Ulanzi MA26 on my Amazon wishlist for over a year and almost forgot about it until Black Friday 2024 rolled around. As I was scrolling through my wishlist for significant price drops, I saw that the tripod’s price had fallen from a silly overpriced €45.99 in France to an all-time low of €25.99 (it had also dropped from $35.95 to $28.76 on Amazon US). It didn’t take a lot of thinking before I made my purchase, and I have zero regrets.

This is the best phone tripod I’ve ever seen or owned. It’s the most versatile, the most portable, and the most solidly built.

You’ll soon be able to customize the haptics for your Pixel’s ringtone and notification alert

    • An upcoming version of the Google Sounds app will let you change the vibration pattern for your selected ringtone or notification alert.
    • Previously, the vibration pattern that was associated with a ringtone or notification alert was predetermined.
    • This feature is found in version 3.2 of the Google Sound app, which hasn’t been released yet.

The best Android phones generally have haptic feedback motors that allow them to vibrate in incredibly precise ways. You’ll notice this especially when typing but also when you get a phone call, as many stock ringtones vibrate the phone in fun ways. This is no different on Pixel phones, which come with the Google Sounds app and its suite of ringtone and notification alerts preinstalled. With an upcoming Android release for Pixel phones, you’ll be able to enjoy your Pixel phone’s haptic motor even better as the Google Sounds app will let you mix and match your favorite ringtone or notification alert with your favorite vibration pattern.

Tipster Nail Sadykov managed to get his hands on an unreleased version of the Google Sounds app, version 3.2. He shared the APK with me, so I was able to install it on my own Pixel device. When I launched the app by going to Settings > Sound & vibration > Ringtone alert or Notification alert, I noticed that there were now two tabs: One for “Sounds” and another for “Vibrations.”

Thankfully, modern tech has been keeping up with even this relic of our telecom past, bringing us powerful new tools like AI assistants that can take calls on our behalf. Pixel phones are getting a new layer of security with Identity Check rollout

    • Identity Check is now rolling out to Pixel devices.
    • This feature makes it more difficult for unauthorized users to access accounts by requiring biometric authentication.
    • One UI 7 eligible Galaxy phones and other supported Android devices will get Identity Check later this year.

As you may know, Theft Protection is a suite of security features that was introduced with Android 15. It was created to protect your private data in the case your phone is stolen. It currently offers features like Remote Lock, which allows you to remotely lock your phone with your phone number. There’s also Theft Detection Lock, which uses AI to detect if your phone has been forcibly stolen and locks it down. Now Google is expanding Theft Protection with the rollout of a new feature — Identity Check.

Google has announced that it is finally launching Identity Check on Pixel phones. As a quick refresher, Identity Check is a feature that makes it mandatory to pass a biometric check, in addition to PIN or password verification, to access your accounts. This feature activates when the device leaves a trusted location (one or more areas can be designated as a trusted location). Meaning that if someone managed to steal your PIN or password, they would still be locked out as long as they don’t have your fingerprint.

The Galaxy S25 series was just announced and comes with a bunch of new features. But what about software updates? Does it come with a longer update promise than its predecessor, and how does it compare with those of Pixels and other rivals? Read on to find out.

    QUICK ANSWER

The Galaxy S25, S5 Plus, and S25 Ultra will all get seven years of Android and security updates, same as last year’s Galaxy S24 series. Google’s software promise for its flagship phones is the same, and it is the best you can currently get on the market.

Starting a Gemini Live conversation might soon be possible with just a swipe (APK teardown)

    • Google could soon make it easier for users to start a Gemini Live conversation.
    • We’ve spotted an upcoming change that lets you launch Gemini’s conversational mode by swiping diagonally from the bottom corners of the screen.
    • Currently, you have to tap on the Gemini Live button within the Gemini app or the Gemini overlay to launch the feature.

Android offers several ways for users to summon the Google Assistant. You can use the “Hey, Google” or “OK, Google” hotwords, press and hold the power or home buttons, tap the microphone icon on the Google Search widget, use a home screen shortcut, or swipe diagonally from the bottom corners of the screen. These methods also work for Gemini, in case you’ve selected it as the default assistant on your device. However, Google could soon repurpose one of these shortcuts to open Gemini Live instead.

Samsung’s highest-end Galaxy S25 may only be available in these countries

    0
    • Most Samsung Galaxy S25 phones are expected to be sold with 12GB of RAM.
    • A persistent rumor has suggested that the S25 Ultra may also have a 16GB edition in at least some markets.
    • The latest source claims 16GB S25 Ultra sales will be available in China, South Korea, India, and Vietnam.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked gets underway just a little later this week, and smartphone fans everywhere are eager to meet the Galaxy S25 series. Even with the formal debut of these phones looming so near, when we’ll finally be able to put all these rumors to rest, that doesn’t mean that new rumors are anywhere near ready to slow down their incessant pace. Right now we’re checking out some new details on a theory we’ve heard before, concerning Samsung’s plans for its highest-end S25 configuration.

While expectations are high across the Galaxy lineup, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has quite the reputation to live up to. We’re looking forward to the Ultra enjoying some exclusive features, like enhanced nighttime camera performance, while at the same time fearing the loss of others, like S Pen Bluetooth support.

iPhone SE 4 could cannibalize Apple’s flagship sales with this rumored feature

    0

Credit: Robert Triggs / Android Authority
    • The iPhone SE 4 will reportedly support Apple Intelligence features, including Writing Tools, the ChatGPT integration, and Genmoji.
    • Apple’s AI suite is currently exclusive to its high-end devices, including the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 series.
    • The next-gen iPhone SE is rumored to launch before April for under $500.

Last year, Apple Intelligence debuted exclusively on the company’s flagship devices, providing eligible users with the ChatGPT integration, Genmoji, Writing Tools, and more. Consequently, most iOS users are still missing out on the AI perks, as they require an iPhone 16 or 15 Pro model. Fortunately for those on a budget, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will reportedly support Apple Intelligence while sticking to an affordable price.

According to a Bloomberg report, the iPhone SE 4 (or iPhone 16E) will be the first of its kind to support Apple Intelligence tools. This suggests Apple will equip it with an A17 Pro or A18 chip and at least 8GB of RAM. Some bundled perks include Writing Tools for on-device text manipulation, Clean Up in Photos, ChatGPT integration with Siri and other parts of the system, image generation capabilities, notification summaries, and more.

Besides adopting the native AI solution, the report states that Apple Stores are starting to run out of iPhone SE 3 units. While the device is still available to order in the US for $429, the dwindling stock indicates an imminent refresh. Based on previous launches and leaks, a March announcement seems most plausible.

For those unfamiliar, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to introduce some major upgrades — beyond Apple Intelligence support. Some of the hardware boosts could include an edge-to-edge OLED panel, Face ID support, a 48MP rear camera, a new exterior shell, and more. As a result, the mid-range phone could see a slight price hike but is unlikely to exceed the $500 mark.

TikTok drama: US shutdown reversed after Trump’s intervention

Following a federal ban on Saturday, when TikTok went dark for millions of Americans and was removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the platform and its services are back up again in the country.

Apple’s notification summaries are the worst game of telephone ever

    0

When Apple first rolled out its AI-powered notification summaries as part of iOS 18, I admit I was excited. I tend to disappear in group chats during the day — usually because I’m staying productive — which means I often come back to quite the stack of notifications that I have to read through. So, for my iPhone to sort through the mess and bring back a one-sentence summary sounded like a dream come true. As soon as it launched, I opted in.

And, as it turns out, Apple Intelligence does summarize my notifications — or at least it tries to. By trying to condense possibly dozens of messages into one single sentence, it has to pick and choose what context matters. It’s as if I were playing a game of telephone with friends, only the message I’m waiting for is hundreds of words long. Here’s what’s going wrong and what Apple has promised to do about it.

I tried the TECNO Pocket Go and discovered a whole new portable way to game on Windows

    0

The PC gaming handheld market has really taken off since the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally first showed up. Now we’ve got Lenovo Legion, MSI, and other brands all throwing their hats in the ring with their own approaches to portable PC gaming. The underlying concept is straightforward: jam a PC chip, a screen, speakers, and gamepad controls into a handheld device you can throw in your backpack, so you can have all the power you need to run your favorite PC games right in your hands.

Of course, the design has to stay fairly portable, and that’s where you start hitting trade-offs. Along comes the TECNO Pocket Go, an “AR” handheld and glasses combo that dares to rethink the entire formula. I’ve spent a few days playing around with it, and the Pocket Go is definitely asking the kinds of questions that could shape the future of these gaming handheld devices, even though the answers it provides to those questions aren’t on point yet.

Googler shares potential release dates for Android 16 beta builds

    • The official Android 16 release timeline states that Google will release the first three beta builds in January, February, and March.
    • A Googler has revealed the potential release dates for these beta builds.
    • Google may release additional beta updates in April and May ahead of the stable release sometime in Q2 2025.

Google confirmed plans to release the next major Android platform upgrade much earlier than usual, shortly before rolling out the first Android 16 developer preview build last November. We’ve since received another developer preview build, and Google is expected to roll out the first beta build later this month. Although the company has not shared definite release dates for the upcoming beta builds, a Googler may have accidentally spilled the beans.

According to Google’s official Android 16 release timeline, the first beta build will roll out this month, followed by the second beta update in February and the third beta update in March. The timeline doesn’t mention exact dates, but Android Authority contributor Assemble Debug has spotted a comment on the Android Gerrit in which a Googler reveals that Android 16 Beta 3 will roll out on March 12.
