June 18, 2019 (11:00 am ET): At roughly 10 am ET, users on Twitter started to notice that Google Calendar was experiencing issues. Now, it appears that the service is down for customers across the globe.
Google’s G Suite status dashboard states that the company started to investigate reports of an issue with Calendar. The status was made public at 10:22 am ET. The below screenshot from Down Detector shows signs that the 404 outages have spread to regions outside of the U.S.
Fortunately, it appears as though the outage is only affecting customers on the web. The mobile apps are still working for most, allowing users to view upcoming events and add new ones.
Funny enough, Gizmodo noticed that the G Suite Twitter account tweeted just before the outage about how great Calendar is at scheduling events. The irony is real.
