It’s been rumored for a while that OnePlus will launch its new flagship smartphone series earlier than usual this year. Now, an exclusive report from TechRadar claims that the OnePlus 8 series will go official in the second week of April. The publication has attributed sources close to the company for this information.
OnePlus usually launches its flagship series in the May-June period. The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 6 both landed in May while the OnePlus 5 landed in June. This would be OnePlus’ first April launch for a flagship series after the OnePlus One, which was launched back in April 2014.
TechRadar’s report doesn’t reveal anything else about the upcoming phones except the purported launch timeline. This is also not the first time we’ve heard of OnePlus moving up the launch of the OnePlus 8 series.

Previously, tipster Ishan Agarwal had suggested that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro could launch sometime around late March or April. Looks like he was right on the money.
Even though all signs point to an April launch for the OnePlus 8 series, there’s still no official confirmation from the company. We’d suggest you take this info with a grain of salt for now and we’ll update this article as and when we know more.
