The Samsung Galaxy A20 was one of the top ten most popular phones of 2019 according to at least one report. It’s not hard to see why, as it’s a relatively solid sub-$200 phone from the smartphone kingpin.
It looks like Samsung is preparing a sequel, as frequent leaker Evan Blass has posted an apparent 360 degree Galaxy A21 render on his Patreon account.
The render shows a phone with a punch-hole display rather than a waterdrop notch as seen on the Galaxy A20. We also get a look at the back of the phone, revealing a quad rear camera instead of the old phone’s dual camera setup.
If the Samsung Galaxy A21 quad camera setup is like other recent Galaxy A-series phones, then we can expect main, ultra-wide, macro, and depth cameras. Hopefully Samsung’s latest phone delivers a bump in camera resolution too, as the Galaxy A20 offered a 13MP main camera and a 5MP ultra-wide secondary sensor.
Other noteworthy details include a rear fingerprint scanner (no in-display sensor here), a thick bottom bezel, and a 3.5mm port. There’s no word on horsepower, display details, and battery capacity. So we might have to wait for the official reveal for these tidbits.
Either way, we’re expecting the Galaxy A21 to be another popular entry in Samsung’s 2020 line-up — provided that it’s available at a competitive price.
