Google Pixel phones running the latest Android 11 Developer Preview are now getting a small, but handy new feature. Called Cards & Passes, the new shortcut lets you access Google Pay with the press of a button.

Cards & Passes was first spotted in the Android 10 beta and is already available to Pixel users in Singapore. It lets you bring up every card or pass stored in your Google Pay wallet by pressing the Power button.
According to 9to5Google, the feature is now widely available on Pixel phones with Android 11. The publication notes that the new shortcut could roll out more widely in Google’s expected March feature drop. It’s too small a feature to be specific to an OS update, and the publication recently found evidence pointing to its inclusion in the upcoming Pixel feature drop.
How to use Cards & Passes on Google Pixel
To bring up the Cards & Passes menu, you need to first enable the option from the Settings menu on your Pixel phone.
- Open Settings
- Tap System > Gestures > Cards & passes
- Tap the slider to turn the feature on/off
Once you’ve turned it on, you will be able to access it by pressing and holding the power button. Swiping right on the Cards & Passes menu will show different payment methods and passes. If you have a lot of payment methods you can tap View all to select your desired payment option.
You also have control over how the feature functions when your phone is locked.
- Open Settings
- Tap Privacy > Lock screen
- To view Cards & passes when your phone is locked, tap Show all notification content
- To view Cards & passes only when your phone is unlocked, tap Show sensitive content only when unlocked
As we said before, Cards & Passes is currently limited to Pixel phones running the Android 11 dev preview. We will update this article once it rolls out more widely to regular Pixel users not on the latest developer preview program.
